Alex Hains is a partner in the Labor and Employment section of the firm. She represents private and public employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters. Alex has been recognized by Best Lawyers and Louisiana Super Lawyers for labor and employment law.
Employment Discrimination and Civil Rights Matters
- Defends companies and their employees against all forms of civil rights claims, including employment discrimination and civil rights violations in state and federal courts
Wage and Hour Matters
- Defends employers against a wide variety of wage and hour claims, including claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage payment and collection laws
Labor/Union Matters
- Represents companies in grievance arbitrations involving discipline and contract interpretation matters
Advice, Agreements, Policies and Training
- Assists employers with drafting of employment agreements and workplace policies, including FMLA policies, electronic use policies, discrimination policies, accommodation polices, drug and alcohol use and testing and other needs
- Conducts employee training sessions
Prior to entering private practice, Alex served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Madeleine Landrieu at the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal. Alex graduated cum laude from Loyola University College of Law in 2013. She received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 2009.
