Steven Loeb’s principal areas of practice include building and heavy construction, architect’s and engineer’s professional practice liability, public bid law, American with Disabilities Act, mediation and arbitration. His experience includes litigation of complex multi-party construction matters, drafting legislation and standard form agreements for the American Institute of Architects, and arbitration of disputes between owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, sureties and design professionals. Steven has also handled complex insurance and surety claims all as part of his construction law practice. Steven is a panel arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, and a Certified Mediator on Americans with Disabilities Act matters through Key Bridge Foundation/U.S. Department of Justice. Steven has taught several courses in the LSU School of Construction and the Southern University School of Architecture. Steven is recognized in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers in the area of Construction.

Representative Matters

Represented surety during takeover of bankrupt contractor on projects exceeding $100 million, resolving a majority through negotiation and litigating balance.

Represented a public airport authority who terminated a contractor and its surety for failure to properly and timely perform work resulting in complex multi-party litigation with over $50 million at stake.

Represented a major highway contractor against a public transportation agency in Texas and collected over $2 million for the contractor’s extra work and delay claims.

Negotiated resolution of a complex claim between the general contractor, subcontractors, suppliers and casino developer requiring the on-site personal presence of Mr. Loeb to manage the project to a successful and timely completion.

Lead counsel on $10 million dollar mold and moisture intrusion case representing the public owner against general contractor, surety, architect, developer, insurance carriers and subcontractors.

Handled construction litigation and American with Disabilities cases in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi and Arkansas.
