Trenton J. Oubre is a partner in the Baton Rouge office and has been in practice since 1991. Mr. Oubre is a former member of the firm's Management Committee. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana State University in 1987 in Business Administration/Finance and received a J.D. from Louisiana State University Law School in 1991. Mr. Oubre is admitted to practice in all Louisiana Courts, the United States Middle, Western and Eastern Districts as well as the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Oubre has practiced in the worker's compensation, casualty, tort and insurance defense areas for the past thirty-three years and has developed a very specific experience with complex workers' compensation defense matters on behalf of employers, insurers and self-insured funds. He has handled literally hundreds of trials, hearings, appellate arguments and motions. He is a frequent lecturer on workers' compensation defense strategy and related matters including casualty liability defense matters.
He is the former Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL).
He was the 2009 President of the Baton Rouge Bar Association and is the past Treasurer and Secretary. He is a former Member at Large of the Baton Rouge Bar Association Board of Directors and has served for five terms. He was previously the Co-Chairman of the Baton Rouge Bar Workers' Compensation Committee on behalf of defense counsel. He was the first elected President of the Baton Rouge Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. He is a Fellow of the Louisiana State Bar Foundation. He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel (LADC), on the Board of Directors and Legislative Committee Chair of the Louisiana Association of Self-Insured Employers (LASIE), member of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) serving on the Employer Relations Committee and 2023 Workers’ Compensation Reform Task Force Committee, was selected for the 2004 Louisiana Leadership Class of the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL), a former Board of Director of the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education of the Louisiana State Bar Association, and a former Board of Director of the Audubon Girl Scout Council for a multi-parish area.
